TECHNICAL TERMS EXPLAINED

BOARDING

Wallboard:
Strong  versatile and great value, wallboarding is the key cladding component in the majority of partitions and linings, providing good all round durability, acoustic and fire resistance.

Soundsheild:
Use Soundsheild where sound reduction or increased privacy is of particular importance. Soundsheild has a tuned, high mass core to absorb sound energy, whilst [roviding good durability. 

Firesheild:
Use  Firesheild where superior fire performance is of the greatest importance. Up to one hours fire resistance can be achieved with a single layer  each side on partitions, and up to  two hours with double layer.

Moisturesheild:
Use Moisturesheild in areas that are prone to high humidity or moisture, such as kitchens, which would adversely affect other plasterboards. Moisturesheild core contains additives to protect it in these conditions. 

Plank:
Plank is 19mm thick with ivory paper face, ideallysuited to recieve a plaster finish or for direct decoration

TAPE & JOINT FINISHING

Used  for reinforcing joints.

 

INSULATION
Insulation for internal and external walls, and lofts, insulation helps insulate a room or loft area and is a great way to reduce energy expenditure and help meet the Building Regulation requirements. 

METAL STUD PARTITION
C Stud
Easy to use and quick to install C Stud and galvanised lightweight steel sections for use in non-loadbearing systems

U Channel:
Designed to work with our metal studs, U Channel forms the standard head and floor track for partitions and wall lining

 

METAL FRAME
When working overhead, lightweigh, easy to use metal components are a massive plus.

 

MF Ceiling System:
MF Ceiling System is a lightweight metal framework to support one or more layers of plasterboard, depending on application.

 

LININGS
Dot & Dab:
Also knows as Bonding  Compound, Dot & Dab is  to apply direct to most masonary backgrounds. It's the fastest way to line your walls

Wall Liner:
Easy to use C Channel is the main component to the wall liner system, offering a stand-off of between 20 and 125mm for long service runs.

 

PLASTERS
Universal Board Finish:
Tough, durable and easy to apply skim coat plaster, giving high performance finish. For application to the ivory face of plasterboard.

Universal One Coat:
Universal One Coat is a one coat plaster for hand application.
